Audi R8 5.2 FSI V10 (Driver + 1 Passenger)
Having set the motoring world alight when they introduced their original R8 supercar, with its mid-mounted 4.2 litre V8 engine, Audi has now moved forward again with this new version using a 5.2 litre V10. This car now sits comfortably alongside some of the other supercar giants produced by the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini. The R8’s styling certainly looks the part and the new V10 engine definitely makes all the right noises, with a much higher pitched ‘wail’ than the throaty ‘roar’ of the V8. There is also plenty of technology on-board to back it up, but although a focused driving machine when you want it, there is also a more relaxed side that allows the car to be driven like any normal saloon. Although it has been tweaked and refined over time, the shape is still basically the same today as in 1963 and is now a motoring icon. This car is compact and agile but has much more practicality than many other cars in this class, with side and rear windows that allow good all round visibility, plus two rear seats that will comfortably accommodate either children or luggage. The 911 wins awards from the world’s motoring press on a regular basis for being the “best overall sports car” and it really is an awesome car that you can use day in day out.

BMW Z4 sDrive 35i (Driver + 1 Passenger)
This is the second generation Z4 and has been extensively revised, restyled and re-engineered. The styling is now more balanced and grown up, creating a car that is stunning to look at from any angle with curves and lines that captivate you as your eyes follow them through from front to back. The wider chrome grill and curving headlights create an almost Shark-like profile that announces your presence in the rear view mirror of the car in front. Everything about the new Z4 screams ‘pure sports roadster’ and this impression is true, but you also get an incredibly civilised, easy to live with, everyday car.
Our Z4 has the latest version of BMW’s long serving, super smooth 3 litre, in-line 6 cylinder engine. However, this one has two small parallel turbo chargers, which are able to react quickly to even the smallest inputs from the accelerator pedal, and help the engine produce 306bhp and 400NM of Torque. It also makes the rich, deep exhaust note that is an integral part of this iconic engine format. This car is fitted with the new 7-speed DCT, twin clutch, automatic gearbox. In full auto mode it provides super smooth, super fast gear changes, but it also has a faster changing and very effective ‘sport’ mode, plus steering wheel mounted ‘paddles’, which can be used in either mode, for lightning fast manual changes. The system actually makes this car accelerate faster than the manual gearbox version with a 0 to 62mph time of just 5.1 seconds. The overall engine and gearbox package also creates an efficient combination that achieves a combined fuel consumption figure of 31mpg and CO2 emissions of 210g/km.
